Using the Meniscus Calculation Engine and its associated IPMS database, Meniscus has helped one of the major UK Water Companies set up what is probably one of the largest energy management applications in the UK Water sector and possibly one of the largest across industry sectors.
Using raw data from some 5,000 pumps and drives as well as a range of electricity meters across some 700 individual Sites, MCE is being used to aggregate and combine 15 minute and 30 minute hours run information and kWh data into individual plant consumption and target data. This is consequently aggregated into Process and subsequently Site based consumption information.
A range of process performance metrics is also calculated for key processes to gain an insight to help reduced energy consumption by maximising process performance.
The resulting information is being displayed in a Silverlight Interactive Dashboard solution.
