About Meniscus

Meniscus is a small company at the cutting edge of delivering real time analytics solutions to our key markets of Utilities (Water and Energy mainly), Internet of Things and Smart Cities. All these solutions are built using our proprietary Big Data analytics platform. Following an equity investment last year we are now looking to rapidly grow the business and are looking for a Data Analyst to help implement solutions, liaise with existing customers and help develop new technical features.

Description of the role:

This position will suite a graduate with some experience in delivering analytics but with also with a passion to learn and a real interest in the growing Internet of Things market. A knowledge of programming is a benefit, but not essential, but an excellent knowledge of Excel is essential. The role is likely to develop in a number of directions depending on your interests; you can become part of our growing software development team; you can grow into a business development role where your knowledge and interest in the business does the selling or you can develop your analytical skills further and help us to deliver leading edge solutions for our customers. Initially you will be:

  • Reporting to, and working closely with, the Managing Director
  • Delivering technical customer support to help customers use our analytics platforms
  • Testing our analytics platforms as and when new releases become available
  • Helping to develop new technical services and features
  • Delivering a wide range of analytics on existing datasets to help understand relationships and to improve the existing visualisations that we deliver

Candidates are likely to be graduates with a science/maths/engineering/computing qualification as numeracy is important. An excellent knowledge of Excel is required (you will be tested on this) and a good understanding of IT, ideally analytics and visualisation software, will be a requirement.

Key skills and experience required:

  • Graduate with a degree in a science/maths/engineering/computing discipline
  • Understanding of analytics, Big Data and the Internet of Things
  • Excellent Excel knowledge
  • Good client facing attitude and technical support experience
