Key features that make MCE unique

MCE maintains a dependency tree of all Items created in the database. This allows users to set up multiple tiers of calculated Items so changing one Item will automatically calculate all other Items that depend on that one Item

The Calculation Queue is a list of all raw and calculated items that are due to be re-calculated as a consequence of new data being received or an item property changing.

MCE works with any time series data regardless of the raw periodicity of the data (i.e. readings every 5 seconds, every minute, 5… 15… 30 minutes etc.).

With MCE users can easily set up alerts for any Item. Send alerts for a single Item to a specific person or send all alerts for a particular group of Items to a specific person. Set up High and Low limits for the alerts and these limits can include any calculation.

Scheduled e-mailing of management reports. Only available as part of an overall hosted service.

A fully featured RESTful Analytics API is available to configure, upload and download your application.

MCE contains four levels or Groups of data hierarchy. The top level could be the Company, the second level the Site and the third and fourth levels the Group and Sub Group respectively. The RAW and CALC Items that are the building blocks of MCE are directly associated to the Site.

How do I use MCE?

  • Set up an Entity or Thing

Set up an Entity or Thing. Define the structure for your data and the properties of the Items (Raw and Calculated). These define how the data is processed. Click here for information on Item properties

  • Create your own calculations

Create your own Calculations. For any Calculated Item define the calculations that you want to apply to the data you upload into a Raw Item. Calculations can use data from Raw Items or from other Calculated Items. Click here for examples of calculation syntax

  • Replicate the Entity as many times as you want

Replicate the Entity as many times as you want. Once your Entity is set up and delivering the outputs you are looking for then replicate the Entity as many times as you need. Important – each Entity must have some unique identifier

  • Upload data

Upload data. Push your Raw data to us either by FTP or using our API. New data automatically places all Raw and Calculated Items onto a calculation queue

  • Download metrics

Download metrics using RESTful API or view in our dashboard or widgets. We have a number of dashboard to view data and widget graphs to create your own dashboards.
